We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Avular Team!
At Avular we create gorgeous mobile robots that transform the way industries work. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you are the driving force behind the mechanical architecture and design of our next generation mobile robotic systems. You translate ambitious product visions into manufacturable, robust and elegant mechanical designs — often with integrated compact electronics — and help shape the future of our robotic platforms.
YOUR MISSION
You want to be at the heart of designing high‑end robotic products that seamlessly combine mechanics, electronics and ergonomics.
You will:
Lead the mechanical design of complex robotic systems from concept to production
Create high‑quality CAD models, assemblies and drawings using Siemens NX
Collaborate with electronics, embedded software and systems engineers to design fully integrated products
Translate functional requirements into clear mechanical architectures
Select the right materials, tolerances and manufacturing processes
Integrate compact electronics (PCBs, connectors, wiring, thermal management) into your mechanical designs
Prototype and test designs hands‑on
Balance feasibility, manufacturability, performance and elegant product design
WHO YOU ARE
8+ years of experience in mechanical design for high‑tech products, robotics or mechatronic systems
Expert user of 3D CAD software like Siemens NX or similar
Experienced in conceptual visual/graphical communication to steer the development in early phases
Skilled in concept development and early‑phase sketching
Strong in integral product design where mechanics, electronics and aesthetics come together
Deep knowledge of materials, tolerance engineering, and production technologies (machining, molding, sheet metal, additive manufacturing)
Strong understanding of kinematics, mechanical loads and structural design
Experienced in integrating compact electronics in tight mechanical envelopes
Hands‑on, comfortable with prototyping and functional testing
Creative mindset with attention to detail and usability
Strong communicator, able to work closely with multidisciplinary teams
Pré: experience in lightweight & compact engineering
Pré: experience with Teamcenter
